BEIRUT: Hezbollah MP Nawwaf Moussawi called on the Cabinet Sunday to resolve the issue of Sidon’s notorious seaside dump and build a railway between the border coastal town of Naqoura and Beirut and another one between Naqoura and the Bekaa town of Riyaq as well as a transit port in Naqoura.

The Marjayoun MP called on all Arabs and Muslims to commit to the unity of the nation and the resistance as means to confront Israeli occupation and U.S. hegemony in the region.

According to Moussawi, any movement that is ashamed of announcing its support for the resistance constitutes a tool of Western hegemony in the region and cannot replace a regime that supports the resistance.

Moussawi also said that the U.S. administration is only interested in toppling the Syrian regime in order to remove those who oppose its policy:

“What is taking place in Syria has nothing to do with democracy and freedom but is part of an effort [by Western countries] to contain the emerging changes [in the region].”
