Four municipalities in Lebanon will receive an EU grant amounting to €310,340 to implement socio-economic activities in the fields of environment and eco-tourism that will benefit 12,000 people. “By their proximity to citizens, local authorities are true agents of change,” said EU Head of Delegation Ambassador Angelina Eichhorst. “The support of the European Union is part of their capacity building so that they can exercise their responsibilities, particularly in the areas of governance, planning or service delivery.
Grant agreements were signed with four municipalities: Andaket (Akkar), Deir Qannoun, Douier (South Lebanon) and Assia (Jbeil). The projects were selected following a call for proposals launched by the Delegation of the European Union.
