AMMAN — Technical staff from 100 industrial facilities in Jordan learned eco-efficient techniques for saving water and energy in a series of workshops held in May and June and sponsored by USAID, according to a statement from the agency.

The primary goal of the workshops was to give Jordanian industries the tools needed to increase their competitiveness in the global market through environmental responsibility.

The sessions will be followed by the selection of 40 “industrial partners” who will receive individualised technical assistance from the USAID Water Reuse and Environmental Conservation Project, the statement said.

The training sessions covered environmental management systems, pollution prevention and financing for green investments.
