AMMAN — A cooperation agreement was signed between the National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) and the Jordan Valley Authority (JVA) within the project “Increasing the resilience of poor and vulnerable communities to the effects of climate change in Jordan through the implementation of innovative projects in water and agriculture in support of climate adaptation”.

The project is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation and funded by the Adaptation Fund, according to a NARC statement. This agreement is intended to enable NARC to operate and manage the new JVA research station. The main aim is to conduct research to reuse the reclaimed wastewater from the North Shouneh Treatment Plant.

The implemented research is very important to reduce irrigation water wastage, to maximise the benefit and the safe reuse of reclaimed wastewater, the statement said.
