AMMAN — Jordanian Farmers Union President Odeh Rawashdeh on Saturday said assistance from the environmental compensation programme should be equally distributed among all cattle breeders and not only those from the badia.
So far, only cattle breeders from the badia have received this assistance, he said, noting that cattle breeding is not limited to specific places because herders usually move from one area to another, looking for pasture.
The environmental compensation, granted to Jordan by the United Nations Compensation Committee, is used to protect and support biological diversity and revitalise plants, animals and soil.
