HEBRON, April 19, 2012 (WAFA) – The Israeli authorities Thursday ordered residents of Khirbet Umm Sidra, an area south of Hebron, to remove the power grid that supplies their residences with electricity, according to a local source.
Omar Jaffal said officers from the civil administration, the Israeli military government’s arm in the West Bank, handed residents orders giving them one week to remove the power grid.
Rajih Talahmeh, from the Land Research Center, said the Israeli authorities had previously notified the residents to stop building the electricity grid, which provides the area with electricity since 2006, in addition to several other demolition notices of a number of houses, water wells and agricultural facilities.
The power grid provides electricity to 25 homes.
