In a series of activities held around World Water Day, the Palestine
Institute of Biodiversity and Sustainability (PIBS) and the Faculty of
Science at Bethlehem University in cooperation with Deutsche Gesellschaft
für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) invite those working in areas of
water to a workshop: “Water and sustainable development in Palestine”.

Who: Those individuals, organizations, governmental and non-governmental
groups, and universities interested in water issues (especially as it
pertains to development and job creation) will be represented.
Why: Review research papers and reports and plans for sustainable
development including job creation in Palestine
Call for abstracts: We urge you to submit an abstract of 150-200 words
summarizing past, present, and/or future research from your institute to
info@palestinenature.org by 29 March 2016. A scientific committee will
review submissions and assign presentation time. All attendees are
encouraged to bring literature relating to water issues to distribute to
attendees.
Reservations: Whether submitting an abstract or not, all who wish to attend
must send a brief biography with contact information to
info@palestinenature.org by 29 March 2016. Seating is limited.

11:30 -12:30 Round 2 of short (5-10 minute) presentations from key
stakeholders about their published and unpublished work
12:30-1:15 PM Lunch
1:15 – 3:00 PM Break into four groups then report back for summation and
conclusion and recommendations. The four groups address water-related
research and potentiality of helping in sustainable development: a)
policy, b) socioeconomics, d) institutional, e) basic and environmental
issues
3:00- 3:30 PM Gather for debriefing/report back from the various groups
3:30 – 4:00 PM Quick tour of PMNH aquaponics and permaculture facilities
and informal networking.
