EcoFuture will develop a climate change adaptation strategic plan oriented towards improving the socio-economic welfare for the people in Jordan Valley

As the water-food-energy-ecosystem nexus has been adopted by the mainstream sustainability discourse within the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the initiative, in coordination with other stakeholders, creates a better understanding of the interdependence of water, food, energy and environmental resources. It will catalyse an informed and transparent framework for determining trade-offs and synergies that meet demand, while including the most vulnerable without compromising sustainability. Water security remains central to the concept of the nexus, because food security cannot be achieved without it.

Propose a climate change adaptation plan for the JV region, based on existing technologies, considering social and economic components.

Use techno-economic models to optimize sustainable efficiency including economic, society and environment, performance of the EcoFuture.

Use socio-economic models to assess and recommend policies in the WEFE context to improve the welfare of people in the Mediterranean region.

Perform tests in three demonstration sites in the Jordan Valley, one in each country, to validate the inputs to the various models;Propose methodologies to extend the applicability of the results of the Jordan Valley to other regions and to other Mediterranean countries.

Build synergies across sectors to investigate interlinkages across the nexus.Implement capacity building and training programs in response to project finding
