Despite the Corona pandemic and conferences becoming mostly virtual, Arab Forum for Environment and Development (AFED) 2020 report and conference received good press coverage in local and regional media, through a group of correspondents from local and Arab newspapers and news agencies.
AFED held its 13th annual conference in Beirut between November 10-11, where it released its report entitled “Health and the Environment in Arab Countries”, virtually, via an electronic control room at the American University of Beirut (AUB).
Among the media that published comprehensive reports on the conference were the international “Asharq Al-Awsat”, “An-Nahar” in Lebanon, “Al-Maghribia” and “Bayan Al Yawm” in Morocco, “Al-Ghad” and “Al-Rai” in Jordan, and “Al-Masry Al-Youm”, and “Al-Ahram” in Egypt, and “Al-Ayyam” in Bahrain. France 24 group and Monte Carlo Doualiya also broadcast a number of reports on the conference, in addition to hosting the AFED Secretary General, Najib Saab, in an interview about the report’s main findings and recommendations, the conference, and how to help AFED to continue carrying out its mission. Programs on the conference were also broadcast on “Izaat Al Sharq”, “La Voix du Liban” and “Radio Algeria”.
