The Eilat-Eilot Renewable Energy Initiative has announced the agenda for its fifth International Eilat-Eilot Renewable Energy Conference & Exhibition taking place this week in Eilat.

The Eilat-Eilot Renewable Energy Conference will discuss the global need for implementing a holistic approach to sustainable energies and present solutions for the next phase of substantially penetrating alternative energy technologies into the global energy arena.

The conference program will include a series of presentations, interactive discussions, side events and field trips dealing with topics such as oil alternatives, smart grid, energy efficiency, solar and wind based energy and biogas.

The Eilat-Eilot Renewable Energy Conference is an international forum designed to encourage discussions with global significance on technology innovation, business opportunities and policies for renewable energy.

Participants are expected to register for the conference from around the world and will include national, region and local government ministers, regulators and officials, entrepreneurs and project developers, technology companies, investment banks and venture capital funds, environmental organizations and scientists.

Speakers at this year’s conference include Eric Isaacs, director of Argonne National Laboratory in the United States; Minister of National Infrastructure Dr. Uzi Landau; Professor Ray Wills, director of the Sustainable Energy Association in Australia; Martin O’Malley, governor of Maryland in the United States; Reji Kumar Pillai, president of the Smart Grid Forum in India; and Professor Eugene Kandel, head of the National Economic Council and the chief economic advisor to the prime minister.

This year’s conference will include a special workshop for the investment community that will showcase innovative Israeli vendors of alternative and sustainable energy technologies.

The conference will also include onsite tours of a number of the alternative energy projects of the Eilat-Eilot Renewable Energy Initiative, including the Arava Power 5 MW Solar Farm on Kibbutz Ketura, the Aora Solar Tower on Kibbutz Samar and the Passive Cooling Tower on Kibbutz Neot Smadar.

The conference onsite tours will also visit the Capital Nature Technology Center located at the Arava Renewable Energy Academic Institute on Kibbutz Ketura. The Capital Nature Technology Center is a testing and validation facility that provides renewable energy entrepreneurs with space for pilot implantations, professional and scientific guidance for R&D validation.
