TAU’s school of Social and Policy Studies, in conjunction with TAU’s Lowy International School, announces the inauguration (October 2023) of a first M.A program in Israel dedicated primarily to climate change.
One of only a handful of social science Master’s program globally that focus on the climate crisis, TAU’s ‘Social and Policy Aspects of Climate Change’ has two main goals: advancing social science research of climate change, its impacts and potential remedies; and training new cohorts of professionals for a global labor market in dire need of climate expertise.
Designed for holders of Bachelor’s degrees in any discipline, the program offers a Study Track which can be completed in 12 months (Fall, Spring and Summer semesters); and a Research Track which requires thesis writing and two full academic years.
The program features internationally renowned instructors with outstanding multidisciplinary records in climate research, policy and activism. Mnadatory courses, electives and seminars offer sociological, anthropological, political, economic and policy perspectives of the crisis, highlight dilemmas of energy usage, security and immigration, urban policies and more.
