AMMAN — Energy Minister Ibrahim Saif on Saturday announced the completion of the first stage of a programme to install solar panels at houses in the Kingdom’s northern region, which will be extended later to the rest of Jordan.
The project, executed in partnership with Mercy Corps and 10 local associations, includes installing solar panel systems on the rooftops of some 500 houses around Mafraq, Irbid, Jerash, Ajloun and the Jordan Valley, said the minister, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
He also said that the Renewable Energy Fund made it affordable for homeowners to obtain financial support to install solar systems.
