Shtayyeh thanked Germany for its support for the Palestinians, particularly at this difficult time when Israel is trying to destroy the foundations of the Palestinian state with its annexation plan, according to a statement issued by Shtayyeh’s office.

“The international community and with a clear message says: we are with Palestine, with projects for it to support its infrastructure and for establishing the state of Palestine on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital,” said the Prime Minister.

Clages said Germany is going to continue supporting Palestine this year and in the coming years, whether through the German Government or the German Development Bank.

The contract brings the total German contribution to the Salfit Sewerage Project up to 19.2 million euros. It aims to improve the environmental and health conditions in Salfit city and the surrounding area in addition to improving the water supply system for Salfit city.

A wastewater treatment plant to serve Salfit city and Farkha village is planned to be completed within one year. In addition to the extension and rehabilitation of wastewater and water networks, the project will also install a small photovoltaic power plant and provide operational assistance.
